Update: September 2020: School Uniform - The school expects all pupils to wear school uniform from the beginning of the autumn term – pupils’ compliance will be managed in line with the School Uniform Policy. We propose that children will go back to wearing indoor shoes (plimsolls) and please note that their outdoor shoes should be black training shoes. These should be worn as outdoor shoes and for PE activities. Children do not require two pairs of training shoes. We now require the children to attend school in PE kit if they know that they have PE on a particular day.

School Uniform

Our school uniform is smart and practical and incorporates the following (items in italic bear the school logo):

  • White polo shirt
  • Purple sweatshirt
  • Black trousers

  • White polo shirt
  • Purple sweatshirt or cardigan
  • Black skirt or black trousers
  • Purple gingham dress or black shorts (Summer)

Indoor footwear - black plimsolls

School Book Bag and PE Bag (Essential for Y3 Pupils)

In Physical Education lessons, for reasons of safety and hygiene, long hair must always be tied back and the children need to be able to change into PE kit as follows:

  • House Polo shirt
  • AYJS Sport top – “teamayjs sport”
  • Black Shorts
  • Navy or black jogging trousers
  • Baseball Cap

It is essential that by the time children reach Year 5 and Year 6 they have a pair of football boots and shin pads (both boys and girls). We encourage Year 3 and Year 4 children to have shin pads and football boots if they attend Extra Curricular Football and Rugby Clubs. For summer sports all children in the school should have a pair of training shoes. Children will also need a pair of trainers if they are involved in running club. We feel that proper sports clothing is designed to be effective and comfortable. House shirts are worn for games or PE with black shorts or navy or black jogging trousers. (Bermuda shorts and fashion tops are not appropriate for games or PE). If your child attends any of the sporting extra-curricular activities it is advisable to have an extra set of kit for these and possibly warmer items for the winter months. NB please bear in mind your child could be involved in a lot of extra curricular sport and two PE kits might be necessary.

All items should be clearly named and stored in a suitable bag.
