Transition Questionnaire 2020 / 2021

Now that we are a couple of weeks into the new academic year, I thought that it would be a good idea to get your views and opinions about transition from the Infants to the Junior School. Please would you all spend a few minutes of your time filling in the short questionnaire at: forms.gle/6yoReWnKwdhziV8U6

Any information you give us will benefit the children and the school. Thank you for your cooperation and support.

Children in Distress “Love in a Box” Christmas Shoebox Appeal 2020

Today launched the Children in Distress “Love in a Box” Christmas Shoebox Appeal 2020. All the children have received a leaflet to take home and we have also attached a copy to this message. This appeal ensures that infants and children from the poorest families or in orphanages, hospices or hospitals know someone cares at Christmas. It’s a volunteer-led appeal to ensure they receive a Christmas gift.

I invite families and individuals from school /church / community / friends...to bring a completed wrapped shoe box - lid wrapped separately please OR /AND a donation OR /AND individual items for boxes to school on Saturday 17th October MORNING. We will be on the front playground from 10 until 12 to welcome donations. The donations and boxes will be collected by the 'Children in Distress' team at 12 noon.

We will make a shoe box stack .... have a collection box for money ..... and separate boxes for other individual items to be collected . We will not be checking items or boxes this year for safety reasons. They will go straight to the warehouse to be checked - after a period of 'standing' to ensure they are Covid free .

This is the link to the appeal - with a great video to help children and adults know what needs to go in the box: childrenindistress.org/shoebox-appeal. Please tell all your friends, family and work colleagues too and invite them to join in. If you would like further information please do not hesitate to ring the school office on O1904 551630

Keeping Safe

When picking children up and dropping them off at school, please can you not block the pavement. Instead, please stand on the grass at both the Appleton Road Gate and the Copmanthorpe Lane Gate. We are still having issues with children having to walk on the road to get round to join queues before coming in. Your cooperation on this very important health and safety matter would be greatly appreciated.
